We all are entitled to our own opinions obviously. If you ship one or another, well, why not?! I know what I want: Rae/ Finn.
And it upsets me when I read that Rae/Liam need to be together because he gets her, being ill himself and going through similar stuff. Is that all the contribution they see in him? Because apparently Rae only can love for real if she is with someone “like her”.
And people defending this line of thought are the same ones that support gay marriage, interracial entanglements, the fight of class division, etc. How is Finn/Rae different from couples having opposite backgrounds? They might not understand completely because they didn’t grow up in equal circumstances but, like some of us have said, her illness doesn’t have to define her (just look back at the real Rae Earl). The fact that we don’t see them as ‘conventional’ doesn’t mean they didn’t fell in love (which they did and is as clear as day) or it is impossible to build a successful relationship.
We can ship Rae with a broom stick, that’s the less important part of what I’m trying to say, but don’t invalidate Rae/Finn just because that’s not how is supposed to be.
*This is my feeling at this moment, having seen the episode almost a day ago.*
YES. Tom is a fantastic writer but I kinda feel like he took the easy way out by breaking them up to add drama. He could've shown how their relationship would be affected by Rae's issues (not just her body image),and them going through a lot to get through them.
Finn during Archie’s coming out speech was my favourite thing in any episode of the show. A beautiful example of the bond between life long friends.
And did anyone else cry when the girls hugged Archie?
I’m so proud of him.
That means Finn knew aaaaaall along that Archie was gay which means THE REASON HE SAID NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN WITH RAE WAS BECAUSE HE KNEW ARCHIE WAS GAY AND HE LOOKED AT HER BECAUSE HE WAS LIKE WHAT BUT ARCHIE IS GAY NOT BECAUSE HE WAS JEALOUS.
